What are PCD Diamonds?
Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) Cup Wheels consists of micron-sized, synthetic diamond powders, which are bonded together by sintering at high pressures & temperatures.
Polycrystalline Diamonds (PCD) are produced on a cemented carbide substrate utilizing our propitiatory cobalt sintering process. The cobalt from the cemented carbide substrate infiltrates through layers of micron synthetic diamond powder, causing grains to grow together.
As a result, residual cobalt provides significant toughening & material electrically conductive, a critical attribute for the hardest known material.
The integrally bonded carbide substrate enables PCD diamonds to be brazed resulting in a stronger & harder bonded diamond tool.
